A Lux meter is a measuring device beneficial in measuring luminance and light distribution. Lux is basically a unit of luminance used in measuring luminous flux per unit area. A Lux meter is therefore a precisely designed device that measures the brightness in terms of the unit lux.
Lux meters are equipped with a data logger, which simply means it has an internal memory that records and saves the observations.
This is crucially important for factors such as performance and operational safety. With the help of a lux meter light measurement, you are able to ensure optimum interior brightness conditions. A lux meter is used in several applications to measure routine light fluctuations and can be used in public buildings at workplaces. It helps to measure light distribution in exhibitions, labs, and museums. It measures the uniformity of luminance, that is, the light falling on a particular surface of an area.
